In despair, without any hope, I sat.
Under the cotton tree, head bent on my knees.
Teary-eyes closed, hardly seeing reasons, at a head breath;
Not believing the words from my ex.
I thought life had ended.
But it became bright, brighter than the first I lived.
There came words, very helpful words from my admirer,
Words that lightened up my heart again.
“I love you,” she said; smiling at me.
