They say it’s strength, and I say it’s fear
They say it’s love, I say it’s tolerance
They say it’s wisdom, I say it’s confusion
They say it’s faith, I say it’s hope
They ask, what kind of a woman leaves?
And I, what kind of a woman stays?
Out of fear with freedom of speech and expression
On thorny silence, she walks
In a loveless home
Out of tolerance, in hope of happiness, she stays
Hastily, out of confusion, she made a decision to stay in a hopeless situation
In hope of happiness
They ask, what kind of a woman leaves?
And I, what kind of a woman stays?
In a relationship as cold as the grave
Like she doesn’t have a choice, she stays.
Pain, with open arms, like she was never loved
Without realising she embraced
In a home not homey
Dark as a long tunnel
On a furnace she is sitting
In hope of happily ever after
In a hopeless relationship ,she stays
Walking in her life dark as a tunnel
Holding her head high
All she sees is the light at the end
But there is a grave right before the light
In fear of mockery, she did not leave
And in hope of true love in the grave she ended
And still they ask,
What kind of a woman leaves?
And I say, the kind of a woman who leaves
Is a woman who knows her worth
And the kind of a woman who stays is a woman who fears fear
Which leads her to struggle for control
And most of those
That end up in the grave could have avoided their fate.
