Lovers
From the beginning we were
Till a fiend marred everything
And placed me in a place so dark
Oblivious of everything
Separated from my maker

But glory to my lover
In His heart of love, I’ve always been
His hand not shorter
Untrammelled it found me
My dirt, he washed with His blood
On Calvary He took my place
My shame He placed upon Himself

Oh, what a pitiful lover I was
Ignorant of my very own
In whose heart of love, I’ve always been
My eyes He opened
To behold the treasures He meant for me
With tears of joy I embraced them
If only Eve did run
Towards Adam screaming help!
Nevertheless, death joined us back together
