Mark 12:41-44

I had nothing to live on,
with my beloved husband gone and no one to depend on,
I had to provide and take care of myself.
But on one fateful day, I had to give my offering,
I only had two copper coins worth a penny.
It was worth enough to buy: perhaps a full chicken that could last me one or two weeks.
Or a beautifully sewn dress or a pair of shiny black shoes.
But I gave it all as an offering to my God,
as a token to show Him my gratitude for being alive.
Unknown to me, my Lord was watching me
He saw that it was all I had but I gave it up with a happy soul.

And I received blessings, both spirituality and physically
as I left the Temple with peace and joy in my heart.
