Nowadays, most people seem to be taking time so lightly. They are forgetting that one day they will die and won’t be able to do what they want. They don’t realize how much time they are losing. As philosophers always say: “Time is money.”
Time is the most precious gift that God has given us but some people seem to not care at all. Most people usually postpone the activities that need to be done now, and save them for later, just because they want to have a good time and enjoy life. As most of them always say: ‘YOLO’ (you only leave once).
Everything that we do now is given a specific period because everything has an ending. Every second matters. We only have one chance to spend that second at a specific date and time. We seem to forget that important things need to be done first and the rest will follow. If you are wasting time, telling yourself that you are going to do something later, you clearly haven’t found the importance of life. The choices that we make now affect our future.
There is nothing wrong with having a good time, but make sure that it will not leave you with bad consequences. The thing that makes having a good time a ‘bad thing’ is that people are overdoing it, forgetting that they have got work to do. We are not born to just chill. We have to work.
Many people realise the value of time when it is too late and wish that they had a time machine to turn back time. Succeeding starts when you are punctual and able to use time efficiently and effectively.
I would like to close off by quoting one of Annie Dillard’s quotes: “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.”
