I feel like there are battles
Being fought inside my veins.

I feel that life is not stationary,
But fast moving, like a train.

I see my life dancing on
A pillar of fire,
Burning,
As if not meant to be enjoyed.

I see tears of sombre tones
Impatiently swimming down
My desperate cheeks.

I see my dreams being ambushed
By the laziness I perpetuate
Each day I live.

I don’t think life is easy:
My brain tells my body to
Continue working hard
To protect my soul from
The poverty of my destiny.

I think the time has arrived
To start making my dream a reality,
For time waits for no one.

I think I deserve a medal for
My hardworking spirit that is
Planted in my heart.
