Still in my view, the doctor came out the door
His demeanour had changed, he now looked a bit dull
Restless, I paced about looking from ceiling to floor
Boldly expecting the news no matter how raw
He began to talk, lost in thought my gaze on the knob
It hit me, so hard I began to sob
My knees gave in, I hurriedly caught a rail
My heart heavy, my face so pale
Mama was gone, painfully stolen by death
Helpless, the tears rolled down I could barely catch my breath
