You carried me, for nine full months.
You loved me, with your kind, motherly heart.
You bathed me, dressed me and fed me.
You taught me, shouted at me but always cared how I felt.
You taught me how to read the Bible and be a good disciple.
You told me beautiful stories, funny stories, scary stories.
You truly are the best.
I am a young, confident and happy teen because of you.
You are my other best friend, my laugh-sharer, my secret-keeper,
My gift from God, my everything. My childhood isn’t at all perfect,
But mommy you tried, you still do and you never fail.
