It was a Sunday morning,
The sun was shining so bright.
From a distance I watched it,
It brought hope for a new beginning.
In a place far away from home,

In a place I now call home.

But it was not as pleasant as it is now,
It was worse, I wished I could just go.
I remember those days, my first step,
On this beautiful land, a land of hope.

I wanted to leave this place,
But I was stuck in this strange place.
I am a stranger in this strange place,
The people talked differently,
I am a guest in this strange place.
They even wore differently.

Nature is replaced with tall buildings,
They seemed like they touched the sky.
I was amazed when I saw these buildings,
They were unlike trees, they are so high.
But I felt alone, a misfit in this place,
I felt scared in this strange place.
I looked around for a familiar face,
All I saw were unfriendly strangers.

I saw cars passing by the road,
Over came with fear, I cried.
But an angel saw me and held my hand,
She helped me cross the street and,
She said to me don’t be afraid my child.
As I was taken by her kindness, she had,
She disappeared into the crowed.
I felt alone, a misfit in this place,
I felt scared in this strange place.
I looked around for a familiar face,
But All I saw were unfriendly strangers.
