I know I am pretty
But something in the brain
Is not right
It is a daily battle
Convincing yourself
That indeed you are beautiful
That you are sexy enough
That your body is right
Just as God had intended it to be
Then why, mortal being
Do you spend your every breath
On my weight
My looks you criticise
My articulation
Why are you pulling me down?
When pulling myself up is hard enough
Did your parents not teach you?
To shut up, when you have nothing
Nothing nice to say
Well I am telling you
Telling you to shut up!
I do not need to change
A damned thing at all
Society is the one
The one to change
Not me
Itβs the world
That needs to change
