Thinking I was ready for change,
I kissed my family goodbye without hesitating
I cared not what my friends said for a change
And I was ready to face the world, get past my seedling

The place stared at me and so did the taxi passengers
I tried to break the silence, but my kindness fell on hard rock
My expectancy was: I would gain the atmosphere’s acceptance,
But I got a slap right in front of many and no one cared

The place was not safe for a newbie,
I became a weak link for criminals,
Soft spot for bullies,
Transporter for every lazy being at school, home and streets

I still appreciate my talent,
But I regret the day I was given that sport scholarship
