Memories of my grandmother
She was a cheerful granny
I had
She could joke
We could laugh
Oh, it was so amazing
Though her eyesight
Seemed to be deteriorating
Her memory
Made it powerful
Always, ably recognising me
She could hold my hand
And pull me close to her face
Oh, yes a Mtuwa
“I don’t see now days”
She could say while laughing
It was a blessing to have her
It was soothing
A life full of lessons
Advice
Oh, she wanted upright grandchildren.
