I had been with him
In his last days
He had drunk from my hand
His very last coke

I wished we had more time
So I could tell him
How I loved him
And that he was good father, great dad

Many miles of my boyhood
We had walked together
Sometimes in his arms
Sometimes on his shoulders

I was like
His traveling bag
He carried home
On holidays

To see granny
In our village
His mum
The queen

I heard from mama
His last speech
On earth
Was my name

There was no bread,
In the house.
So, he told her.
To send me to the shops.

From there,
He never talked
Again.
Until his breath ceased.
