I flow like a bracelet,
I shred my feelings on paper,
I ain’t no rapper,
I’m just a poet,

I pray and play around,
With words to heal internal wounds,
I write to make things alright,
Turn a frown into a smile,
And turn the tables around,

I speak for the deaf,
Paint for the blind, fill a coward’s heart
With courage.
I’m neither paranoid nor an astroid
I’m just a poet.

I run as fast as I can,
I ain’t no cheetah,
Although most mistake me for a teacher
I could never be both nor be that bold
For I am just a poet
