I fear to go outside
and I fear to visit my friends
I fear to stand near any men
Because all I can think of
are the women and children who are raped and killed every day

I fear to wear crop tops
and I fear to wear miniskirts
Because all I can think of
are those men who look at our thighs with those scary eyes

All the viruses and illnesses in the world
have vaccines, but then this virus
called gender-based violence
will never have a vaccine
Because all those men out there
don’t care if we are hurt or not

I still fear!
