When I think of Robert Sobukwe,
I think of a South African anti-apartheid activist.
A quick-witted stalwart who knew about the suffering
Of the black nation and
Left his home for the best of his country
I celebrate.

When I think of Solomon Mahlangu,
I think of a South African anti-apartheid activist.

I celebrate.

When I think of Hector Peterson,
I think of a “symbol of youth resistance”

Who was shot and killed
For standing for his educational rights,
