Disadvantaged I am, but I am not that poor.
From a dark background, I come from, but I am not entirely poor.
Impoverished I am, but in poverty, I will not end up poor.
“I am not that poor” these words matter to me and give me courage.
I am not that poor I do say.
Rich in dreams and visions I am.
Potential and talents I do possess and a child of an African I am,
Black in skin pigmentation I will remain.
Poverty isn’t my limit but the sky is.
“I am not that poor” these are the words that matter to me.
These words serve as my motivation.
