The moment felt surreal.
There I was giving in to the demands
Of the exhaustion that had befallen my body like a plague.
Drowsing peacefully in the warmth of a sunny afternoon,
My bed had never felt as soft, my blanket as comforting
And my pillow as welcoming.
Rest embracing my being in ways I cannot fathom,
And just as I fell into beautiful unconsciousness…

I was greeted by the sight of you.
Dazzling light-brown eyes drawing me in,
Deeper and deeper, stealing my breath away.
Your smile held my heart,
Hijacking its fast beating into slow motions.
My stomach flip-flopped uncontrollably
As your hands graced my skin, your touches eager travelers.
I was fading completely in time as the sweetness of your kisses
Consumed my lips.
Burning flowery sensations overpowering me into seldom ecstasy,
My head lost in cloud nine.
But then…

The cries of my alarm clock disrupted my moment,
Its buzzing sound pulling me right out of my sleep,
Frustrating every living joy out of me.
Did I not jump right up?
Half-awake, yet quick to attack it like lightning.
Shutting it down with borrowed speed,
Wasting not a single second to doze right back
Into the world of my dreams
Only to find you…gone.
