Up the hill, he went
His heart so merry he sang
And dogs so vicious, he met
As if the after-school bell rang
Now yonder the hill, he ran
To this day I pity this man
Fierce, saliva dripping teeth, he saw
When to look at them, he turned
The dogs’ hearts were as raw
As iron in a forge burned
‘Keep walking!’ one barked to say,
He walked with great delay;
Thinking of his destination
That wasn’t his decision.
