When you sit alone people give you those looks
As if you are not human
Talk behind as if you don’t exist
You keep words to yourself to avoid being laughed at or mocked
You want your voice to be heard but no one gives a damn
The feeling of rejection digs a hole in your heart
Digging deeper till you can’t breathe anymore

People think depression is just a word but it exists
I am one of the victims
I suffer in silence
People view me differently
I don’t know why
Maybe because I have been raped
And they see a symbol on my forehead
Or maybe because I have incurable disease
And they think I might also kill them

Being rejected by friends and family, I take it to heart
What’s different about me?
I am black as any colour with any race
I have a body structure like anyone
With eyes, nose, teeth, mouth
What difference is there?
I am different from anyone
Maybe because I am a quiet person who hates gossip
Making me different

Some say I am cursed
Some say someone stole my gift
Some say people have their eyes removed
So they can only see the bad side of me
I have done no wrong to anyone
Am I that disgusting?
Someone will mock me for crying loudly but all I need is your love
Your welcome, your ears, your heart and your sympathy
