I need to hit the road.
Pack a small bag,
Pocket all the cash I can get my hands on,
And hit the road.

With a map, just in case,
I want to head out in no particular direction,
And cover vast distances
With no particular destination in mind.

Drive for as long as it takes to clear my mind.
Drive until the scenery makes me forget how lousy I feel.
Surrender to the music…
Let it feed my soul.

As the city and air pollution disappears in the review mirror,
My shoulders begin to ease up.
Traffic congestion begins to give way
As I drive towards where the road meets the sky.

I look forward to waking up in unfamiliar surroundings,
And lured out of my slumber by the smell of fresh coffee brewing,
Greeted by smiling faces.
I need to hit the road.
