When I think of you, in tears I cry.
When I think of you, I wish to migrate.
When I think of you, I wish to run.
When I think of you, I wish to call
your parents to come fetch you.
When I think of you, I wish to call
the police to come and arrest you.
Oh, when I think of you,
I wish to go back to my mother’s womb.

I’m taking about you
covid-19, an incurable disease.
You became part of our lives
forcefully, uninvited.
You took the lives of our loved ones
with the speed of a strong-blowing wind.
You are like a drought, a famine in our lives.
You made the poor and rich equal.
You made educated doctors uneducated,
because you spread anywhere like flowers
because you are incurable and unpredictable.

You changed everything,
life is never going to be the same.
Because everything is now ruled
under your watch,
covid-19 don’t be proud!
