(A week later.)

(At Sihle’s house. Sihle and Thabile are lying in bed.)

Thabile: Babe, while I was home, I told my parents about us.

Sihle: (Sihle looks puzzled.) Really, babe? And?

Thabile: Not good, baba. My father disowned me. I was supposed to get married to an old man. It was long arranged when I was still young.

Sihle: What? And you’re only telling me this now? Wow. (She gets up from the bed.)

Thabile: Ngoba I didn’t think it’s important. I love you and it’s you that I want to spend the rest of my life with.

Sihle: I love you too, babe, but how are we going to get married if your parents won’t give us their blessings?

Thabile: (Getting up from bed, Thabile holds Sihle from behind.) My love, I know my mom will bless us. My father is the one who chose to kick me out. We will get married with or without his blessings. Please don’t let this come between us.

Sihle: (She turns and looks at Thabile.) OK, babe. I love you so much and I really can’t wait to make you my wife.

(They kiss so patiently, a little moan escapes Thabile’s lips. Sihle gently lifts her onto the bed, and they make love.)

Sihle: I love you, babe.

Thabile: I love you too.
