Megan: It was great, thanks for asking.
Mrs Isaac: Look, I’m leaving for a couple of days. It’s work related.
Megan: Oh, where are you going?
Mrs Isaac: Port Elizabeth.
Megan: And what did dad say about it?
Mrs Isaac: He understands.
Megan: That’s good.
Mrs Isaac: Let me go and pack. (She exits the living room.
(It is the following day, a Saturday, and Megan receives a text from Loyiso.)
About yesterday, I’m sorry!
(She ignores it and takes a shower.)
Mrs Isaac: Megan, I’m leaving. Take care. I’ll phone you.
Megan: Bye Mommy!
(It is 2 p.m. Mr Isaac is making dinner, a chicken stew and rice.)
Mr Isaac: Megan!
Megan: Yes Daddy?
Mr Isaac: Are you well?
Megan: I’m doing just fine.
(The doorbell rings.)
Megan: That must be Lumkelo.
(She opens the door.)
Lumkelo: Hello!
Megan: Hey.
Lumkelo: Are you going to let me in?
Megan: Of course, come in.
Lumkelo: Good day Mr Isaac.
Mr Isaac: Lumka! How are you?
Lumkelo: I’m good, Sir. I hope you’re good too?
Mr Isaac: I’m doing well.
(The two girls go upstairs.)
Lumkelo: Your dad is FINE!
Megan: Yes, he is doing just fine.
Lumkelo: No man! I’m talking about his appearance!
Megan: Lumkelo!
Lumkelo: What? I’m admiring him. Clearly, you’re too blind to see him.
Megan: This conversation is disgusting!
Lumkelo: Whatever! I can’t believe tomorrow is the last day of school.
Megan: We’ll rest.
Lumkelo: We shall. But you need to rest with your father in his bed (she taps Megan’s breast)
Megan: Sies!
Lumkelo: What! You can’t be a virgin forever! Wake up!
Megan: How can you say that?
Lumkelo: Come on! You’ve got three guys. Choose one!
Megan: Three?
Lumkelo: Mr Richards, Loyiso and your dad!
Megan: Mr Richards?
Lumkelo: I see how you look at each other in the classroom. He wants you!
Megan: What have you done with my friend? Who are you?
Lumkelo: (she laughs) Don’t be afraid, just do it!
(Lumkelo exits Megan’s household.)

Unknown: Hey there!
Megan: Hello, who are you?
Unknown: Mr Richards.
Megan: Where did you get my number?
Mr Richards: Your friend gave it to me.
Megan: My friend?
Mr Richards: Lumkelo Adams
Megan: Oh, I see. What can I do for you?
Mr Richards: Tomorrow, after school, can we meet up at my place?
Megan: Regarding?
Mr Richards: Your marks.
Megan: Oh, of course!
(It’s the next morning, the last day of school.)
Mr Isaac: Aren’t you having breakfast?
Megan: No. I’ll grab something at the tuckshop.
Mr Isaac: Alright, see you later.
Megan: Bye! (Kisses his cheek)
(Megan exits. She enters the school gates)
Lumkelo: Hey there!
Megan: Hi.
Lumkelo: What’s with the long face?
Megan: First, you ruin my relationship with Loyiso. Now you want to complicate my “teacher and student
relationship” with Mr Richards. Thirdly, you want me to sleep with my father!
Lumkelo: And?
Megan: You disgust me! We’re done! Our friendship is done!
Lumkelo: How dare you!
Megan: I’m fed up with you!
Lumkelo: Good!
