Nkosana has spent the whole weekend in the locked house with curtains closed. He has been crying himself to sleep. His phone rings.)

Nkosana: (Wiping away tears) I thought you hated me and never wanted to talk to me again.

Manqoba: Brothers don’t abandon each other, no matter what.

Nkosana: (Getting emotional) I am so sorry, man, for everything. I don’t know what to do, why me?

Manqoba: I heard what happened at the shisa nyama. You know what, I am coming, give me ten minutes.

(As Nkosana hangs up, Mihlali calls. Nkosana answers.)

Nkosana: I thought I made myself clear: I don’t want to ever hear from you again!

Mihlali: (Sobbing) Babe, I am sorry, I should have told you. I can’t lose you over some freak ex-boyfriend.

Nkosana: That is not what the guy said and the signs were there, Mihlali, you played me daylight! I kept asking about the calls and you said it was your grandmother! You lied, cheated and broke my trust.

Mihlali: I know I hurt you, I should have been open with you. The thing is, I didn’t want to lose you. I thought that if I told you, you would leave me, Nkosana. I love you, I always will. Ever since I met you I feel like I can conquer anything, with you I can take up the world. You have shown me love, you also taught me how to love, not only you but myself as well. I hope someday you will forgive me. I love you so much. (She hangs up.)

(Manqoba arrives and Nkosana lets him in.)

Manqoba: And I thought I would find you hanging from the ceiling.

(They both laugh.)

Nkosana: Come on in and stop standing there!

(They hug.)

Manqoba: I am sorry, man, for the way things turned out. Everything you need I am here.

Nkosana: (Staring at him) Does that mean you accept my relationship with Mihlali?

Manqoba: (Smiling) If there still is one. Whatever makes my boy happy, makes me happy!
