Adam ate the apple, Cain killed Abel. God tried to start over with the flood, still it didn’t work. It got so worse he had to send His only son. Looking at life today, that still didn’t work. So you see, we were doomed from the beginning.
You mean to tell me it all started with an apple? Mankind’s downfall started with a fruit?

I don’t think so. Maybe it’s not so perfect after all, the story of how He created heaven and earth and how we came to be. He overlooked one not so small detail: human nature; the component in our DNA that translates to jealousy, mistrust, disobedience, anger, violence and deceit. He forgot to exclude that “little” detail when He “made” us. Now if you ask me, that’s where it all started.

So David slayed Goliath? In what world does the little guy win? It’s sure not this one we live in. The strong take what they want and the weak fight over what is left. Nebuchadnezzar threw Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace, it’s 2017 and we’re still burning people. Just a pity Jesus wasn’t there for all the girls. Now explain to me how we are not forsaken. Even the ones closest to us don’t want to see us reach our prime. They would rather see us die than let us shine, just ask Joseph with his coat of many colours. Deceit is deeply rooted in us.

Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt. We’re right back where he started. It’s just a shame present-day leaders can only manage to lead us to junk status. The lions in the den didn’t maul Daniel, King Darius believed God would save him. The real lions are the fathers who slaughter their own daughters, the uncles who kill and eat their own nephews. Where was God?

Some say he’ll do it again, He’ll try to rid the earth of all its impurities, and leave behind only the sinless, just like he tried with Noah and his family. But somewhere, somehow it all went wrong again. Their descendants laid the foundation of what we are today. So now I really hope you understand me when I say: we were doomed from the beginning.
