The world that surrounds me is a complex combination of an enormous number of elements and features, from the air that is filled with soft sounds of flapping wings to the blooming of daises on a spring day. The praises sung by the birds on a autumn’s morning and the peace and bliss whispered by sharp cold wind that blows on a winter’s morning. I have experienced a lot of pain and laughter and no one can ever guarantee you a tomorrow, but that’s when I got my “aha!” moment; I learned to live for today.

My world is a mystery, a wonderland full of wonder. I colour the world around me. I fulfil its meaning and purpose, I make life worthy. Everything starts with nature and continues with me, the rest can be easily created by a human mind that is filled with great intellectual thinking. But this is what I know, I am the centre of my own world. One of the gifts given to me by my creator is the gift of high sensitivity, the ability to be acutely aware of other people, with empathy and compassion. I have a multi-fold life to live: a body, a brain, a heart and most importantly a soul. These are my living tools but above all else, I was taught to safe guard my heart because everything that I do flows through it and as for my brain, I was taught to feed it as much as I can because all that I know will safe guard me.

I live in a breath-taking world that is filled with magic and wonder. Although I may feel intense sadness, profound happiness can be just around the corner, one step away, one thought away or one breath away. I strongly believe that sources of joy are always around me, everywhere I am. I remember a time when I could not fit in with other kids at school. I would always stand out and because of that I would be made fun of. But as I am growing I realise each day that what makes me stand out, is what makes me, me.

I have to understand that a perfect world is what I have right in front of me, that asymmetrical, unbalanced world that I see is actually a masterpiece because everything should balance, as it is said, “too much of something is never good”. Imagine if there was laughter all the time or if there wasn’t sadness, then we would not value happiness as much as we do now.

And we would not see the importance of it. I see my world as a perfect world, with ups and downs, lefts and rights, because really, what good do negative thoughts and actions serve? They only hurt and supress positivity. Judgment, hatred, egotism, bitterness, and despair only brings more negativity into the world, which is already riddled with problems. Even a very small amount of good can exponentially spread because it’s less dense than bad.

Aldous Huxley once said, “It’s dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly”. This statement gave me so much more than what it literally means because I learned to feel light even though I felt deeply. I learned to let things happen lightly even when they weren’t promising, I let things happen lightly even when I thought I wasn’t coping, but today I can say lightly, lightly. It is the best advice ever given to me.

In conclusion, there are quick sands all around you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear, self-pity and despair but above all that, do it lightly. Create your own world filled with positivity and self-love because you are the only one in your world who can make it count.
