The family was teasing my granny. She didn’t want to see them. I asked if she was alright. She said, “I am okay, but not really okay.” I was nervous because I had never seen her like this before. I knew her happy, bored sometimes, but like this she was scaring me. She had an angry face. It was like talking to a ginger beer and then the ginger beer wanted to kill me.
She was in traditional dress when the family entered. They all greeted us, but she didn’t respond.

My auntie was making jokes and it was fun, but not fun enough because my granny was sad. The great soup came and my uncle said, “What the heck is this! I think I need a wife like you cooking this for me every day, this is delish.” My granny started to get happy. Everyone enjoyed the soup. Some wanted more soup for themselves. We ended up making jokes, laughing and singing.
