I can’t believe that happened.

I honestly can’t believe what just happened now. Did that just happen? Seriously someone wake me up from this bad dream I’m having.

There I was standing all alone on the railway station waiting for my dad to come. He promised me and said he would come no matter what. Four hours left for my dance competition to start and yet I was not dressed, let alone at the venue. The competition venue was two kilometres away from the train station.

“Dad hurry up. I’m going to be late for my dance,” I said to myself in frustration.

It was so cold, I was shivering waiting for my dad to get off the next train.

He knows it’s my first dance competition ever and he has to be there. Did he tell me to wait here? I cannot even remember, but I know I’m supposed to wait for him because he didn’t know the way to the venue.

Oh my phone! Let me call him. Luckily a message came through before I could press the call button.

I’m on my way, don’t worry.

Phew, I thought he wasn’t coming. I texted back: Please hurry.

It was getting late now and numerous trains had come and gone; there was still no trace of him.

A message from my dance teacher: Where are you? You missed your dance.

Tears started falling down my cheeks.

Message from Dad: When are you gonna dance? I’ve been waiting.

What? He’s already there! No, no, no. I waited here for nothing.

I texted my dad: What do you mean? I’ve been waiting for you at the train station, kanti you’re already there.

I missed my dance.
