Forgiveness is hard yet much needed. Learn to forgive others regardless of whether they deserve your forgiveness or not. Forgiveness actually allows you to process internally the negative feelings of grief and outrage. Eventually, you let them go because you’re at peace with your life.

Crucial questions you should ask yourself regarding forgiving a person are: why do you want this pain to go away? Is your anger constructive or destructive? Remember, forgiving whoever hurt you is not merely a service of condoning their behaviour, which could be morally wrong or offensive. Rather see it as service that you initiate in order to free yourself from the contagion of hatred.

Also, remember, if you choose not to forgive, the person that you’re angry with isn’t changing and you’re not growing. On the other hand, resentment restricts you from living in the moment and experiencing the profits of being present. Free yourself.
