Saturday evenings – the sun reflects a bright orange and vibrant sunset, Amapiano (a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths, airy pads, and wide basslines) or the loud, raw and repetitive sound with heavy bass beats of Gqom music is heard busting off the roof of Sisonke Tavern.
Sunday morning – calm and quiet. A time to wash your tears away and hope that your day turns out great. Worshippers hum church hymns in high spirits.
Some wake up with painful headaches feeling as if their heads have been banged with Triple H’s hammer, cursing at alcohol. Others get dragged out of bed moaning, commanded to iron their church uniforms.
