Maya Angelou once said “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you”, therefore I feel I’ll be doing an injustice to myself by not sharing this story about my something special and not to sound cliché but it has a lot to do with love.

It may have been an ordinary day to some, with the sun out and the sky clear as day, but to me it felt like I had hit the jackpot with the little money I had to spoil myself for the December holidays, but instead a great thought or gesture came to mind when I laid my eyes on those necklaces in the store I walked into.

You know in my life I would not say I have ever had a friend or best friend that I could share things with, or dress in matching outfits with, but in my mom I feel like I have found that best friend that I would like or want to do those type of things with.

So you can imagine the feeling I got when I saw those two-piece matching necklaces, (I swear at that moment I could literally hear that “aaaaahhh” sound that we hear in the movies or cartoons when one has found something precious) which I purchased for both myself and my mom. I wanted her to have something to remember me by since she’s quite far away from me at the moment, something we could share not as just mother and daughter but as “friends”.

That’s the moment I would have taken to glitz us up, but I guess I could wait a little longer to get that chance but I don’t want to end up losing them after keeping them so long.

These two hearted necklaces mean a lot to me and I hope hers will mean a lot to her as well – because to me these necklaces symbolize the love between a mother and daughter. The bond we are to share, the things we can achieve together and the things we can learn and teach each other and the strength a woman has to have.
